It's life as usual in Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that thousands of people call home. Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Rajasthan, India. But today, the fort attracts other types of outsiders – hundreds of thousands of travelers who come to the location, which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013, along with five other forts in Rajasthan. REUTERS/Anindito MukherjeeNEW DELHI, Jan 11 (Reuters) - India may exempt some solar projects from paying duties on equipment imports, according to government and industry sources, to bring renewable-energy capacity additions back on schedule and lower consumer power tariffs. Projects with 30 gigawatts of capacity will benefit, the sources said. Solar power projects with a combined capacity of at least 30 gigawatts have been either delayed or are facing an uncertain future due to the increase in module prices and also due to supply constraints, according to the National Solar Energy Federation of India. Imported solar modules cost about 40 cents per watt of capacity while domestic ones cost 37 cents per watt.

About 26.9 million shares will be sold for between 340 rupees and 357 rupees in the IPO, with Sula raising 9.60 billion rupees, Chief Executive Rajeev Samant said at a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday. However, that is less than Radico Khaitan Ltd's (RADC.NS) market value of 147.52 billion rupees and United Spirits Ltd's (UNSP.NS) 682.18 billion rupees valuation. Streaming platforms have also helped popularise wine, added Samant, who launched Sula in 1996. Its net revenue rose 8% year-over-year to 4.57 billion rupees in fiscal 2022. Sula's IPO will be open for subscription from Dec. 12-14 and debut on the stock exchanges between Dec. 20-22, the company said.

Here, buildings have long been designed to adapt to the heat, a tradition that New York architect Diana Kellogg has followed with her work on the Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls’ School. Named the 2020 “Building of the Year” by Architectural Digest India, the eco-friendly sandstone school opened in November 2021 and 120 girls are currently enrolled in its curriculum, according to Kellogg. High ceilings and windows release rising heat in classrooms, while a solar panel canopy provides shade and energy. Particular wind directions and different sandstones would regulate temperatures differently to the materials found and used in Jaisalmer, for example.
